The Preiss Company Promotes Adam Byrley to Regional Manager

Position will oversee over 3,700 beds and manage overall leasing and marketing efforts across entire corporate student housing portfolio.

RALEIGH, NC – January 25, 2010 – The Preiss Company (“TPCO”), specializing in the development, acquisition, and management of off-campus student housing, has announced the promotion of Adam Byrley to Regional Manager. In his role, Byrley will manage the company’s Clemson, Charlotte, and Coastal properties, as well as the company’s newest acquisition—University Village at Southern—in Georgia.

As Regional Manager, Byrley will oversee the 3,700+ beds that make up University Village at Clemson, University Club, University Village at Charlotte, University Village at the Coast, Magnolia Lane Apartments, and University Village at Southern. He will also analyze and manage the leasing/marketing efforts across the entire portfolio, use weekly leasing/marketing calls to implement new practices, and standardize the leasing/marketing best practices. Byrley says that he is ready for the challenges of his new position and is looking forward to continuing to strengthen The Preiss Company’s role in the student housing industry.

“I’m fortunate to be working with so many dedicated property managers and team members,” says Byrley. “It is my goal to maximize the tremendous talent that we currently have in order to achieve even greater financial and leasing success.”

Prior to his promotion, Byrley served as Property Manager for University Village at Clemson, a 1,552-bed property consisting of 3- and 4-bedroom condo/townhome units and two HOAs. He has been with The Preiss Company since July 2003 and during his employment, has received several company awards including the 2008 Presidential Award, Clemson MVP for 2008, 2009 Preiss Company Best Team Spirit Award, and 2009 Preiss Company Most Valuable Player. Additionally, in 2009, University Village at Clemson was named “Best Off-Campus Housing” by The Tiger, a weekly newspaper serving Clemson University. It was the third consecutive year that the property had been awarded this distinction by readers of the college publication.

Dewana Falks, Director of Student Housing Operations for The Preiss Company and Byrley’s manager, says that she’s not surprised by Adam’s promotion and that his proven job performance makes him the ideal candidate for this new corporate position.

“Adam started out as a part-time student worker and has steadily worked his way up the corporate ladder,” explains Falks. “Over the past few years, he has always stepped up to the plate to help out whenever needed. His success at leasing and management and his willingness to visit other sites to learn their market have made him an invaluable team member and a tremendous asset to our company. I congratulate Adam on his promotion and look forward to his continued contributions to our team.”
