The Preiss Company Announces Executive Reappointment to NAA Student Housing Committee

Company CEO and Executive Vice President begin their third term on committee dedicated to serving the apartment industry 


RALEIGH, NC – April 20, 2011 – The Preiss Company, one of the largest off-campus student housing providers in the nation, is pleased to announce the reappointment of Donna Preiss and Susan Folckemer to the National Apartment Association’s (NAA) Student Housing Committee. The committee oversees the planning and implementation of the association’s annual, multi-day Student Housing Conference and Exposition. 

As Founder and Chief Executive Officer of The Preiss Company, Donna Preiss has been recognized by Triangle Business Journal as one of the Triangle’s most successful professional women and was awarded their 2006 Women in Business Award. She has also been honored by Business Leader magazine and Triangle Real Estate magazine as an Impact Triangle Real Estate Broker for 2007/2008. Recently, she participated in the “Young Turks” panel at the National Apartment Association’s (NAA) 4th Annual Student Housing Conference & Exposition held in Las Vegas. Throughout her career, Preiss has participated in the development, acquisition, and management of over 12,000 multi-family beds and secured lending for just under $420,000,000 in development and investment property.

She is responsible for all joint venture and partnership relationships, as well as acquisition and development activities. Folckemer has served as President for both Triangle Commercial Real Estate Women (TCREW) and the Institute of Real Estate Management Greater Raleigh-Durham Chapter (IREM). In addition to NAA, she also currently serves on the Student Housing Committee for the National Multi Housing Council (NMHC).
